11 important plant areas and 13 important bird areas of the world are available in the northeast of Anatolia, Turkey. These biological hotspots accommodate carnivores, migrants and predators, useful plant species as well as fertile wetlands. “East Nature” broadcasts the wildlife of Kars and Iğdır area on IZ TV, through the eyes of scientists and along with the human factor.
Erosion, flood and pollution create problems in the ecosystem of the area that are fairly irrevocable. Day to day vanishing of the areas for feeding and breeding of the egyptian vultures (Neophron percnopterus) that are about to be extinct throughout the world; bears shuttling along forest, dumpsite and railroad; wetlands narrowing down due to agriculture and stockbreeding; migration-weary birds in search of a suitable place all along these wetlands... Permanence of the natural circulation is day by day being interrupted...
KuzeyDoğa Society’s “Kars-Iğdır Natural Biodiversity Project” takes part at this point. Aiming in the company of experts and scientists at enlivening the setting of the area, the squad continues researches alfresco regarding the ursine population via the photo-traps they plant in the Sarıkamış Forests; and, they monitor and record the numbers and migration habits of the bird species via the ringing works around the outskirts of Kuyucuk and Aras. Isles of living for the bird species are enlarged owing to the restoration of wetlands. Besides, Turkey’s first “Vulture Restaurant” is about to be founded in Yeşil Kuşak, Iğdır. “East-Nature” reaches to Turkey’s nature from Turkey’s east. Natural face of Kars and Iğdır in an unknown distance turns to make a 24 hours’ period of exploration...
